I don’t think you understand what dude is saying
Being a Christian in the Roman Empire was an instant death sentence
    They’d kill Christian’s for fun

Yep plus that they went from a tiny minority to basically winning in just a couple hundred years (relatively short time historically speaking)

I dont think he meant that lol

It came off to me that he meant since they were so early they were the most devoted due to just time since there isnt much else concrete yet & religion in general was the main driving force for everything - mostly.

People might not be dying in usa over that belief, but their are people that believe they are dying over that belief.

Its how these cults, campaigns & church towns are made.

    GoodbyeCarl

Yup. In some weird Wrestlemania type s***, public schools tried to dunk on Malcom X by saying MLK took the better approach in the protests.

Or they just ignore bro altogether as if he never existed 😭😭

Yeah I kind of meant something in between all of these lol. Basically the earliest Christians made an active choice to follow a radically different religion from the one that they had been born into, faced intense persecution, but within a couple hundred years were vindicated as the Roman Empire adopted Christianity. So I find it interesting both as history and I think as individuals they were impressive in a way.

    Yeah I dont discredit that.

Kust that thise same stories and historical events and the tike theybwent through directly inspires those of today in those areas hardcore to where they want their "own event" & what they do to be just as impactful, helpful & honorable - from their perspective.

I agree though. Just like a winning nation of war at a time. Or even like America got its "we the best" attitude after many wars & inventions while being a "new" country up until vietnam that still lingers today and especially as short as the 2000s n early 2010s.

Feeling vindicated, justified & the majority is one of the best human feelings.

    Its pretty wild.

Made me think of this from Epictetus Discourse

‘A man spoke with me today about accepting a priesthood of Augustus." I told him not to touch it. "You willay out a lot of money for little in return."

27 'But the clerk will add my name to public contracts.'

'Are you planning to be there every time a contract is signed, so you can announce to the assembled, "That's my name he's writing down there"?

28 Even if you can attend these signing ceremonies now, what will you do when you die?
'But my name will survive me.'
Carve it in stone and it will survive you just as well. Outside Nicopolis, though, no one is going to remember you.'
29 'But I get to wear a crown of gold.'
'If you have your heart set on wearing crowns, why not make one out of roses - you will look even more elegant in that?'

The funny thing about this is he never said the guys name
