Or is it just hyperbole
Like ive seen people say niggas 21 and up to old to go to a ken carson show yet Ken himself is 24, do the teen listeners even care?
Even in pop, ive seen alot of people try to call out people in their 30s for enjoying BRAT but Charli XCX herself is in her 30s
I think a lot of younger gen z and gen alpha just want to be different and not listen to mainstream music but being closer to their ages also helps
I am the same age as Carti and love his music idc
Edit: Wait on second thought, I think I would actually still go to his show but probably not moshpit with the kids and stuff like that
I don’t think age is as much of a factor nowadays outside of staying tapped into what’s trending in fashion styles or topics of discussion. Niggas like Kenny Mason are 30 and I don’t think anyone cares cause of how he carries himself
I'm about to be 30 and I could not give a single f*** about what anyone thinks of my tastes and interests because I know I am so f***ing cool and dope and anyone would love my company and to be my friend!
No but they relate more to the young artists now instead of older bc they lived the same Gen Z experience
Zoomers gatekeep older artists this way because there really isn’t much that’s worth gatekeeping coming from their generation
No weird s*** but I b in some discords/ig groups with rappers some are younger and if they find out ur over like 21 they will flame u relentlessly

Which is kinda dumb cuz like xaviersobased and osama like 21
i think people are generally caring less and less which is an extremely good thing. only folks that care are losers in discord servers that are probably insecure about their own ages

I didn't know Osama was I knew Xavier tho
Like melz said it's like a generational culture thing too, even if ur older if u sound like these dudes or have a interesting style u can still be successful
