No bc his dad was a deadbeat and he doesn't exactly seem like the type to care for connecting with his african roots
He’s actually been talking about connecting with his roots in his last run of interviews, he said Virgil inspired him too
Would be cool to see him sample (or how KTT sees it "steal") some Fela Kuti tracks for his next album.
nah i'll pass

Makes sense, i read he was raised by an AA woman
I still can't get over Trina lying about being part Dominican.
lying about ethnicity lowkey super common in music industry
The fact Tyler never aligns himself with the AA plight makes a lot of sense.

Oh fr? That's great to hear tbh

Africans don’t really see themselves as being in allegiance with American black ppl. Granted Tyler is an American national and ig his mother is too, he still seems to identify with his father by not mixing with the social interests of American black ppl.
Try to come up with a Nigerian father bar
"My father he from Nigeria"

That Igor stole songs thread was one of the worst I’ve ever seen on this website

Spicy take
"My father he from Nigeria"
My father, he comes from Nigeria
I am eagerly waiting for David Lynch's Wisteria

This is a gross generalization and not even a justified one
Besides that Tyler was raised by an African American mother, his Nigerian father was absent

Africans don’t even identify with each other most of the time so is it really that crazy to say they don’t identify with Americans?
I’m not even blaming anyone for it. It’s a byproduct of colonialism.

whats up w that paranthetical
nah i'll pass
Why? He's a good producer. Whole lotta afrobeat, Nigerian disco/afro-boogie, or even highlife records he can pull from
S*** even Frank managed to remix/cover an afro-boogie classic and he did that joint justice
I'm sure Tyler could do the same sampling those records
think i read in his virgil rip post that virgil inspired him to be more proud of his african name or some s*** like that

There is a difference in cultural identity and not identifying yourself as having a plight similar to other black people. They do overlap to a degree, but they're not the same. And what you described goes both ways and either way, African Americans are just as guilty of the same thing if not more.
....?
why u so upset lmao
im just asking whats up w the weird paranthetical
