I been on record saying bandcamp been the future on this site. :word: majority of my discography i make more off of that than I do off of all other streaming platforms (shoutout to distrokid). And the best part about platforms like bandcamp is, it’s up to the buyer themselves if they want to buy for as low as you set the price or high (example: my donda remix tape i set a pretty low price to buy, but Ive had instances when someone legit paid $50, which took me by surprise. That’s a pretty huge profit even after bandcamp get they percentage)

I love how accessibility gets frowned upon in spaces of art. Like your art only mean something if it’s high profit and expensive and validated by the bourgeoise. That’s eurocentric as s*** and that ain’t what artists especially artists of color (on black history month) should aspire to in my opinion. There’s other ways that profit can be earned for the artist that don’t result in excluding a key proponent of your audience that helped get you to “that place of elite”

I was just saying something to this effect on Reddit last night when people were complaining about the stream starting early then him not coming out until later.

It’s part of the brand. He is a billion dollar business so he is absolutely in tune with everything he does and the reaction it will create. As a fan, people need to realize that when they get mad. I jumped into the stream at around 11 est and was happy. No waiting, no getting mad at the artist
