Come thru bro it’s an amazing and underrated city

Unfortunately hip hop is pretty dead right now here. For the past decade it’s just been a lot of people imitating whatever was hot elsewhere at the time. Lots of drill acts popped up around 2013, Mustard type stuff after that, etc, all pretty uninspired

It’s a shame cuz for example No Limit and other Louisiana stuff is huge here, but for whatever reason people haven’t really tried to build on that sound in a long time. And we consistently bring a lot of great hip hop acts through. The support is there the creative drive just isn’t right now

We have some good r&b tho like Mesonjixx for example

Stuff op is posting was unfortunately kinda the peak rap wise

Here’s a local classic one of my homies helped make tho

Damn, it sucks how Omaha fell off in the Hip Hop department

Good to know R&B is doing decent to say the least

i wonder what’s with bay area rap and southern rap being so big in midwestern “flyover states” like kansas

i guess it’s just the virtue of being right in the middle of the country and migration patterns

Possibly due to familial ties. There are a lot of Midwesterners who have cousins in the South, and vice versa. Probably due to the Great Migration. A lot of Bay Area folks moved down South, specifically to Atlanta and Houston.
