Sometimes I read the "stan" comments these popstars get and it's genuinely surreal. These people speak to their favourite artist like they're best friends and defend all their opinions and music online like it's their job. When the artist doesn't act like they want them to, their love quickly turns into "you would be nothing without us".

I'm sure most pop artists feel annoyed and exhausted by these stans, but they just ignore them or vaguely acknowledge them occasionally since it's free promotion, but Doja Cat being honest about it might open the floodgates to people talking about how weird and unhealthy these parasocial relationships are.

That being said, I think her lashing out like this is in part due to some mental health struggle and her not being able to deal with fame. Hope she takes a break from the noise and recovers from whatever she's going through.
