Soundcloud in 2021 is the real joke
Yeah it's basically myspace in 2009. You're better off just using BC and YouTube
I read an article that said there was a second wave of “SoundCloud Rap” but I wasn’t interested enough to read past the headline
Fax lmao wouldnt be surprised if it was a sponsored post.
Only see producers use it to show beats real quick to someone, but using it as an actual outlet for a career as singer/rapper isnt that poppin no more.
S*** got its rep ruined & also SC has made its curation & searching a mess, especially on mobile.
Not to mention they have inplemented anti-artist practices for upcomers such as stricter free uploads & more expensive payment models, & they have anti-cinsumer practices that go against what made SC popular in the first place. Such as offical verified artists/labels make you pay to heat anything etc. S*** became corporate af.
Its still hanging on a bit, but outside of like spme porfolio s*** & demos, nah it aint the move imo & a lot of people have moved on.

Faxx.
Especially since most "normal" people can upload directly to spotify now & it looks more professional + has more eyes.
It made SC even more redundant.

Oh s*** - so much knowledge in this post
It’s kinda sad/crazy how it’s evolved into simply being a quick file sharing platform for audio files

Yeah distrokid is only like $35 a year for unlimited everything, there's really no point in SC anymore unless you just can't get the clearance for something but even then theres always youtube. I know I don't plan to ever utilize it anymore, maybe a few years ago
She like that one annoying b**** in class that be posting “goofy quirky 🤪” s*** on ig and twitter and got no friends in school.
Thats oddly specific bro. Inflection like a mf

good
Artist: does something pretty insignificant interacting with their fans
Ktt: f***ing cornball thats why i hate them, corny motherfucker
After all this time there's never been a shred of evidence that the groupchat was racist or that she did any racist stuff in it
It was full of nerdy looking white guys, and yes, Wesley, which is a lizard's name, but there's no evidence of them being racist, people saw her video chatting with white nerds and ran with it
every time an innocent black person gets shot by the police, the family, friends, and community get on TV and say "he/she didn't deserve it, they did nothing" or something along those lines (they're right, police brutality is never deserved).
racists (specifically on 4chan and s***) make fun of these grieving people with the phrase "dindu nuffin" (derived from "didnt do nothing"), mocking the ppl who say "he/she did nothing to deserve this"
they mock them because, in their minds, no black person is innocent. They believe that all people of color are criminals and if they are killed by police they 100% deserved it.
now tell me why Doja Cat has a f***ing song called "dindu nuffin"
explain to me how that isn't evidence some racist s*** is going on

I know about the phrase, it's disgusting man, not denying that at all
The lyrics of the song beyond the title don't seem to be saying anything like that though

To me that reads like 'you're calling me this, but I'm actually doing more in the world than you are'. It looks like an attempt at reclaiming it like the N-word
Was it a misguided attempt? Yeah, it's a phrase too associated with evil racist 4chan stink, it's horrible and negative and comes from people who enjoy seeing black people suffer, I don't think you can put a positive spin on it, it's just too horrible
I don't think the song shows anything close to agreeing with those ideas though, it's a failed attempt at weaponising a term that just seems oo derogatory to use in any positive way
BUT, after looking it up, she did say that she wrote the song after people used the term against her in chatrooms, that's straight from Doja's mouth and that's making me reconsider stuff, what kind of chatrooms would white people happily call a black woman slurs in? That makes 'racial chatrooms' sound less like a meme and more like a pretty fair description of what was going on, I'm siding more with you guys now after finding that out, something's very very sus about that
