Honestly makes me sad when I think about Kanye now.

He legitimately was one of the greatest artists of all time. His run from CD-TLOP is something I don’t know if we’ll ever see in Hip-hop again. And now he’s sort of become handicapped by his mental issues. He legit is my favorite overall artist of all time. Part of me just wishes he retired with Pablo and just focused on Yeezy and his family. And I feel like that would’ve happened had it not been for his slave contract.

The Yeezy Season 4 incident triggered his downfall as I’m assuming he felt like he was untouchable after gaining all the industry love he lost after the Taylor s*** with TLOP. Then the Kim robbery s*** f***ed him up even more. He wasn’t getting any sleep during that time and all of that lead to the breakdown.

I think he’s just been subtlety mentally declining over the years. We started seeing little signs throughout the Yeezus & Pablo era, but the Sacramento meltdown was when things changed and were never the same. It’s a combination of so many things. The public and media fetishizing him, his manic episodes being put under a microscope, all the yes men who don’t really care about Ye etc.

Yeah he’s been active for years and hasn’t set time away for himself to heal. Probably started with his mom’s death and immediately after the dude went on Tour and was in the studio. I hope that he steps away from everything and fully takes time to heal and recharge. He masks his pain by working and that isn’t good

Dealing with mental health issues on top of all the different branches of business and creativity and on top of raising children and on top of having marriage issues, its all too much for any man to handle.

I really hope if these divorce rumors are true that Kanye can be okay mentally. I feel like things can get really bad if kim leaves. Smh. Crazy to see my fave artist of all time go through this spiral. After MBDTF comeback I thought he was untouchable. Now the Drake jealousy, Trump s***, scrapping albums and frantic output is just weird now.

All the Kanye haters like to pin his momma on Ye’s decline which I personally think is gross but you’re right. His mom passing definitely was the first big shift for Ye when it came to who he is as a person. The whole thing seemed like it was a traumatic experience that he’s never gotten over. This is evident from him making a video game about her, the OG Ye album having her doctor on the cover and his last album originally being called “DONDA”.
