he's always been mumbly, he just doesn't want or care to refine the verses now whereas before he'd do take after take after take until it was perfect

    for real

honesty that my biggest criticism of recent ye projects

you can obviously tell some of the verses are reference / mumble tracks, why doesn’t he just punch in and refine them?

he always has some mumbly lines throughout his career but they worked. now it just sounds lazy because the mixing is also lazy lol

I didn’t say that, but it’s not really an opinion that his delivery has gone to s***, a lot of people agree. If you enjoy the weird slurred speech then you’re welcome to

yeezus was definitely the turning point, he wrote/spit half the album in two hours or something ridiculous like that...I guess he found that he liked that process better his technical skills are definitely still there, I don't think you ever lose that tbh. but he's just not that artist now, ive been holding hope for the past 5 years like many other people but I really don't think we're gonna see that Kanye ever again

I demand 42 Dugg, Wayne and Cudi on the album

    Dugg over gospel synths

Yeah this is easily my biggest problem too. Even on more finished verses I kinda feel like the delivery/flow could still be smoother

He changed the way he records

He walks around with a microphone now instead of getting in the booth

He mostly got away with it on Yeezus, that was the turning point for his writing style for sure but I think TLOP was the turning point for his delivery being sloppy. His voice on Yeezus still kind of sounds like the old Kanye

That's nice tho it has a more free flowing energy if u can just walk around or sit in a couch while you record

I’m pretty sure the mic/quality/mixing isn’t my issue tho, I wouldn’t mind that but he just has to record a decent take

True and i think he does everything in one take and doesn't try to have more different takes to select from

I think you can use that approach and still get usable takes, example Solange or Tyler. Kanye just can’t rap any more

I agree with Yeezus sounding like Old Kanye voice wise but I wanna say his flow really got sloppy in 2018 onward cause TLOP has some good flows on it too
