fr though, drake can sell more first week and kanye can outstream him and neither of those matter. what really matters is the long-term sales and the album's longevity.

doja cat's album was considered a flop because Tyler sold more first week but doja's sales are consistently high meanwhile Tyler's sales aren't. it was genuinely successful despite being considered a flop.

when mbdtf dropped, it was considered the weakest performing kanye album because of it's first week sales and due to it's longevity, it was considered a success (when it comes to sales)

in a time where albums come and go faster than ever, what truly matters is whether the album has longevity
