It's not really a gospel album tho. It's hip hop/rap mixed with Christianity lines here and there except 24, which is the only real gospel song
Kanye was always huge outside of the US and people especially in Europe loving him and don't forget that the majority in Europe is also religious
Western Europe where Ye most popular aint as religious as USA. Rest of Europe and the world very religious tho so thats also a reason why it performs well worldwide (JIK didnt tho so thats not the main reason)
