Donda easily, because TLOP even though it’s a very good album it lacks consistence and a purpose. I find it more of a compiliation album with no structure than a complete body of work from Ye. It has amazing songs but overall as a whole I can’t appreciate it as much as other themed Kanye albums. DONDA really touches my soul and grasps my heart especially at the end of it, while TLOP makes me appreciate Ye rap skills on songs like Saint Pablo or 30 hours, but it doesn’t evoke emotions as DONDA does.

We need a poll of song by song tbh

  • Sep 6, 2021

    Donda easily

donda is what kanye was trying to do with TLOP

  • Sep 6, 2021

Fsmh can never be topped but I'd say I prefer more songs on donda

Both have cool, unique vibes and both get me hyped

  • Sep 6, 2021

TLOP has incredible highs. ULB, FSMH, NMPILA, Real Friends are some of kanyes best and coolest songs. But so does Donda. Off The Grid is insane. Hurricane, Heaven and Hell, 24, Believe What I Say, Pure Souls and Come To Life are instant favorites of mine and so strong.

Both albums have some filler though for sure. I think it comes down to which album has more/worse filler.

Looking through the tracklist it feels tied to me… bonus tracks on TLOP are obviously better than the bonus versions of songs on Donda although that feels like an unfair comparison.

Ye’s vocal performance overall is maybe stronger on TLOP, but as a whole I actually like Donda’s lyrics more. And at times Ye’s vocals on Donda are great, with some of the best singing he’s done his whole career.

Asthetically I prefer the haunting vibe of Donda over the randomly bright/bipolar vibes of TLOP.

We’ll see how I feel in 2 years but I’m going Donda with the slightest edge right now. Believe What I Say and Come To Life are so f***ing gooooooooood

The inconsistency is it’s theme - it’s a manic album : see the cover

    DONDA without question.

I totally agree with you and I love that about TLOP. It isn’t random. Or maybe, it’s purposefully random. but I think the theme of Donda (redemption, from darkness to light) is a stronger concept and is more well executed.

tlop has 8 skips: pt2, feedback, freestyle 4, low lights, I love Kanye, franks track, silver surfer, facts - (wolves and 30 hrs r close due to the cringe rapping but the production is fire)

Donda has maybe 4: Donda Chant (if u even count it), KMSA, Tell the Vision, and maybe Jonah (only real issue is that Kanye verse is weak)... if ur real picky maybe ok ok

The only real issues with Donda are the weird sequencing and a slight lack of thematic cohesion given its status as a tribute to his mom

leaving 4 of the best songs on Donda off the comparison renders it useless

    You’re right

    Donda wins

  • Sep 7, 2021

For me donda is better , i liked tlop but i feel kanye was stupid during that era lol and that showed in his lyrics

  • Sep 7, 2021

I mean the majority of the lyrics were corny or dumb excluding saint pablo, nmpila and 30 hours , those three tracks saved the album for me
