It’s been years since I’ve been on this site, but the beef brought me back. As someone who loves both Kendrick and Drake (but prefers Drakes music on a day to day basis), I don’t think Kendrick is as insurmountable as hip hop media acts.
For one, even if we go with the popular opinion that Kendrick’s catalog beats Drake, catalog has nothing to do with beefs at this level. No one is actually gonna go “oh Kendrick made TPAB he can’t lose a beef”. It means nothing. So these arguments based around who is the better hop hop artist is missing the point.
Two, I think Drake is more than self aware after the J.cole situation, Pusha t diss, meek mill, etc.

I don’t know if Kendrick has some unknown s*** to pin on Drake, or vice versa, but I think there are tons of rappers capable of beating Kendrick (Lupe for example), and I think Drake at his best is capable enough.

Of course, an Adonis level gossip drop form either side probably wins the beef regardless but I don’t think they have anything.

I mean the public will. The “Drake is waiting for Kendrick to make an actual diss track to drop” won’t last because people already remember the “Drake backed out of putting out Pusha response track”, and will call it bullshit. And I think Drake knows that.

I think within the week is the best. Today would be great to compete with the attention of the album. Tomorrow night would be good too after Drake sees what they have waiting for him on this album and could probably make an even better response within the 24 hours after the album releases.
