I’m barely meeting the minimum but it’ll probably be similar to Indiana Jones, high requirements that don’t mean anything due to good optimization
Whooo so much in the first few months. I finished the first one first the first time last year on PC and it was unreal. I got Eternal a couple of months a go for cheap as hell and have been wanting to start it soon. Got some time.

seems that its gonna be RT always on, just like Indiana
apart from the fact that im sad this ain't quake 5 which the setting/vibe/aesthetic is more suited for lol, very interesting gameplay for a lot of reasons, but something that stuck out to me in a big way was seeming influence from danmaku/bullet hell design, or maybe im crazy. the greater emphasis on strafing around projectiles, using bombs, parrying(?) specific projectiles like a bullet hell route and apparently the ability to raise the whole ass speed of the game like it's a turbo mode? damn dude. 3d bullet hell seems like something that already exists but not in this super inspired way, it's like they were literally looking to shmups and bullet hell for inspiration and it definitely seems like the right place to work from considering og doom. you can always count on id to shoot for the moon man, whether it works or doesn't, and it usually does

yeah idtech is insanely optimized it's amazing. one of my #1 wishes for the games industry is id software going back to at least licensing out idtech if not FOSSing it like they did up til idtech 4 lol. ue5 sucks so f***ing bad and is legit ruining games these days, idtech 6 would make it look like a spaghetti sandwich in terms of optimization and gamefeel

At this point with UE5 I feel like it's mostly down to optimization and how experienced the devs are with the engine. The new Tokyo extreme racer is built on Unreal 5.4 and runs very well from everything I've seen, a 1070 can get 1080p 60 at medium settings.
But yeah clearly that level of optimization isn't there in most UE5 games. The years and years of optimizations id have put into their engine are really starting to pay off now that the tech is getting more demanding. I was really impressed with how well Indiana Jones ran on my system considering all the "baked in" ray tracing.

The vibe I got from the dev video yesterday is that they're closing off the new trilogy, with them slightly spoiling that this game leads back to 2016 storywise. A new Quake singleplayer + mp must be next in order, wouldn't be mad at a new ip tho
They are going for big areas or im trippin
I mean, this is the first next-Gen DOOM.

Even got me a lil hyped and I'm not even a fan of this series
Am I the only one feeling a little uninspired right now? I feel like they’ve made several decisions creatively that is taking away from what made Eternal so fun to play. The gameplay trailer makes the game look like it plays clunky. Taking away glory kills and replacing them with an awkward punch is disappointing. The demons kind of look like s*** to me? Idk maybe I’m judging it too early but I’m a little concerned. The buzzsaw shield looks amazing though
Imagine if Nintendo shows this off on switch 2 at the April showcase
Even with PS4 power thing would blow up
Even with PS4 power thing would blow up
Lmao what? The original switch played ps4 games like Witcher 3 just fine.
It’s been 8 years since then, it’s time to raise expectations.
I guess in general it’s better to keep your expectations low, but the TFs of switch 2 is more like Xbox series S, so next-gen games will be coming to switch 2
