I think the Christkindlemarket is going on. They use to have it Downtown but I think they moved it to Wrigleyville, or maybe there is 2 locations now.

as far as riding trains @op? you can use the train to get anywhere downtown really. you can use Apple Maps on your phone to map your routes and see departure locations, departure times, buy passes and etc in real time

You can take the cta anywhere, trains or busses. Just use the Apple Maps app to show you. Also, you don’t need to buy a pass, just tap your credit card to pay. One piece of cta advice, don’t go into a car if it’s empty, there’s a reason. Also download the Ventra app.

Also, if the train doesn’t have a WiFi signal on it, it’s not coming at that time, it will come much later.

Make sure to check out the neighborhoods too if you have time, not just downtown. Go to wrigleyville (lakeview) and see wrigley, united center in near west side, etc. Also hit up a local dive bar, a small hot dog restaurant, etc. do it better than most tourists do
