wtf does this mean isnt the album called casablanco

album is amazing in the context of the album?

think of casablanco as a lounge act which is covering a bunch of songs you’re inspired by in real life. basically listen to the last song of the album it should all tie in together.

nah i’m saying that this is what they were going for with the lounge act and why they named it casablanca basically inviting you into their own lounge act

    What inspired the album title?

The title came by way of the very first song created for the album, “Tunisian Nights.” It was in that moment that we knew what the album was going to be. I’d told Dr. Dre at one point that I just wanted to produce and write. I figured I’d done my albums, I’d done the whole artist thing. But once we got this very specific thing that we were going to do, it felt like Casablanca the movie. It was giving vintage Hollywood. It also felt like a serene place, a destination we’d been transported away to through this music. Then Dre suggested that instead of Casablanca, how about we call it Casablanco so it’s a bit more gangster. And it just made beautiful, mad, mayhem sense by the time we really got into the thick of things with the album.

Fr like wtf. The production alone is incredible orchestras and classic hip hop samples and then you got Marsha belting out like it’s a 1940’s piano bar

This album feels dense. Loving it so far.

I noticed and I don’t know if this is a reach or if it’s been mentioned, but at around 2:07 there’s a horn that comes in on Greedy and it sounds exactly like the horn on OutKast’s SpottieOttieDopaliscious.

  • Jul 2, 2024

during the first 2020 covid lockdown Just Blaze got on live and played his unreleased marsha songs and it was f***ing incredible

and its still not being released

It's an interpolation yeah, I think credited?

  • Jul 2, 2024

I'd just like to say firstly this is probably the lowest profile interscope/aftermath release ever

But it is far from deserving of that title

Album is an incredible showcase of music

    We are feasting

So many layers in these songs the replay value is certainly very high
