Dr. Dre's estranged daughter says she had to take a job at FedEx to pay her bills because the music mogul hasn't been in contact with her for 17 years.

Daily Mail spoke to Dre's 37-year-old daughter LaTanya Young about the relationship with her father. The music producer broke up with LaTanya's mother Lisa Johnson when she was only 5 years old.

LaTanya, who wants to spend time with her dad, says Dre hasn't been in touch for almost two decades. She said, "money is not what I want, I feel better doing it on my own."

She says Dre hasn't offered her financial support. La Tanya told the outlet she has resorted to odd jobs and applying to become a FedEx driver.

Dre's daughter said, "I really just want to have closure. I just want to be able to spend time with my father." She says her father has never met her children.

She told Daily Mail after Dre's divorce she felt her father would come around. LaTanya said, "I thought that after Nicole was out of the family, things would be better. I thought my dad would come around. I would like him to make me feel like a daughter."

Dre split with LaTanya's mother, Lisa Johnson, 53, when she was five years old.

The couple had three children together: LaTanya, LaToya, now 36, and Ashley, now 35.
Ever since she was a little girl, LaTanya said that she was forced to go through her father's staff to communicate with him.

'I hated going through third parties. If I needed him, I'd have to go to the studio and get bombarded and talked to by his security.

'I would have to go through his accountant or his right hand man, I would never know whether he got my messages. I have never had a direct line to him.'

While Dre's net worth is believed to be around $800 million after he sold his headphones and speakers brand Beats By Dre to Apple for $3 billion in 2014, LaTanya has struggled financially.

The mother of Tatiyana, 16, Rhiana, 13, D'Andre, eight, who is named after his grandfather, and Jason III, three, said: 'I was on assistance for a while, it's embarrassing to say.

'He did offer to help me with tuition but he never speaks to me.

'He never set me up to be able to not need him.

'He never paid for college, he never did anything to help me and my sisters get along.'

Dre has yet to comment on LaTanya's interview.
