Is this game fun? I keep seeing it's fun then it's meh
Not as fun as Inquisition

Oh. Definitely not buying it then
Inquisition was cool but wasn't as good as origins.
So at best this is the third best game in the series.
Thank you

I think Veilguard does everything better except story/writing and characters imo (Which are a pretty big deal in a bioware game )

The combat is just not as varied imo. You might enjoy everything else

The writing ive heard is barely a step off of Disney level.
I don't think i can play a 49 hour game where I can't enjoy the writing or dialogue.

F*** no. In this game you can actually change specializations and try new builds, redo all your skills, etc. it felt more like elden ring.
In inquisition you’re locked into one specialization and so you get a few skills you use the entire game. Super boring, I think maybe people are looking back at inquisition with rose tinted nostalgia goggles because I just replayed it and the combat did not age well, but it’s still a solid game because of the characters and writing.
Veilguard definitely has issues though, but the combat is one of the highlights.
This games biggest flaw is absolutely the writing. Unlike Inquisition, Morrigan and Varric are severely underused here, they had way more dialogue and depth in Inquisition. Fans love these characters and the writing team obviously knew that because at the end of the game (huge spoilers) they kill Varric with a twist which felt like a cheap way to get an emotional reaction, when they could’ve actually given Varric a bigger part with more lines and given him a good sendoff. This was a terrible sendoff for a lot of characters. The new characters were all great though, I enjoyed all of their arcs and a lot of the decisions in those relationships were impactful.
