Extremely. But I’m a DD1 vet. So if you played and loved the first game 99% sure you will love this even more.
If you’re completely new to it, I think it’s worth trying, you definitely may not like it though. It’s extremely unforgiving with some of its systems in its lack of hand holding. Like I was playing late last night, and dozed off while doing a timed quest. Ended up timing out by the time I woke up cause my pawns were shouting we were running out of time to do it
game auto saved too so ain’t no reload unless I use an Inn Save and I last saved at an in 2 hours prior.
So they’re things you might be use to in other games that aren’t available here. A lot of quest are open ended in the sense of how you complete and even start some. Lack of fast travel options can be annoying if stuff like that bothers you.
Took a lil break time to get back to it. If you on ps5 add me: GreedyGundam so you can rent my pawn for free. Currently got her set up as an Archer, level 21.
I got a second psn: Babaalawo
I got a fighter Pawn on this one but ain’t leveled it up yet. But will do it in the future
Also if you do, lemme know so I know to accept.
Im not gonna be able to play this for a long time but how is it gang - im excited when i can
I don't see how anyone can beat this in 30 hours. Maybe I have the wrong vocation (wanted to try and level up fighter, really get a grasp on it before changing) but man after you really get set loose it can be difficult.
Can't get married to your pawns because they don't level up besides the main one. Ig you can favorite and summon them again when they're higher levels but I haven't. I had a level 2 kratos lookalike till I was lvl 12 and didn't know lol
I was an idiot and put all my camps in storage thinking I could make it back before nightfall.
Dude nighttime lasts for f***ing ever. I tried waiting and waiting and nothing until I actually decided to run for it. Barely make it back to town losing 2 pawns on the way. Just running into goblin camp after goblin camp. You run into randoms and you get jumped every 20 feet no exaggeration.
It's been a rough go after I got to to the first big city. And that's like 3 hours in.
It's not like dark souls difficulty but any journey outside of the city is a journey and a risk.
Again, there may be things that other people may be able to give me tips on as I never played the first but there's gotta be some way to make it a bit easier.

Really having an internal debate rn whether to get this on PS5. Game wise it looks like something I would love and I have a week off from work so it would be perfect timing to play, but I’m worried bc of performance stuff. Do you think it’s really worth it? I have gotten pretty used to 60fps on most games but I do play my switch and the occasional 30fps PS game and can usually adjust alright
Man they really made Mages damn near invaluable in this one. In DD1 after a certain point, needing a mage was pure aesthetics. I always liked to have one because I love the idea of a pure support character in a party composition. But it wasn’t at all necessary.
In this one it isn’t necessary either, but man it makes life 10x easier when you got one in your party. Their utility is just invaluable.
This games have vibes
I think there's a lot to like about it but in this age of accessibility, people may not like it. It's old school.
I haven't decided if I like just how frequent the enemies are. I don't mind alot of enemies because I'm liking the combat and skills. But you if you're moving, you aren't getting a break from it. Literally they're around every corner.
Maybe I should try a different vocation,? Fighter is cool but I've seen like no one playing as them.
Game hasn't completely won me over but it's cool. I'm doing the 3 main quests at the first city now and Im not even daring to try the ones sneaking into the castles. I can only imagine how f***ed that'll be. So that leaves me with the journeying outside and killing s*** and the first one was a crazy journey. The cave wasn't bad but the way back was a survivalist challenge.
Should I get on Xbox or ps? Kinda wanna get it now.
On PS5 and no issues so far

Performance on PS5 been pretty stable. In Vernsworth the first main town, you will notice the drops. It got choppy for me for like .2 seconds one time, but it was like an event going on. Other than that it’s been smooth. If you’re use to 60fps you’ll definitely notice while playing, but you’ll quickly get use to it due to how fun the game is.
TLDR; You experience some drops during busy moments on PS5, but never to the point where it will actually hamper your gaming experience.

One of my pawns kept insinuating that I was gay because I traveled with all dudes

yup, always have a mage with me, they're amazing
If my Pawn complains one more time about me running everywhere I’m throwing him off a bridge
Doing a quest where I have to literally carrying someone to safety while an Orge chases after them. I was holding her watching my pawns kill the thing from a distance. The Ogre leap to me and punched me up in the air. I have no idea where the person I’m suppose to save flew to

Need this to happen to me
Oh my god you can kick someone in the head, backflip off of them while firing an arrow from mid-air
and that’s one of the first skills you learn. This could be the best archery combat in any game ever.

That's something that made me super interested is they made the first good archery class I've ever seen
