Everyone in DG is over 25 (pushing 30) say what you want but the music they make is from an older perspective and
why does it connect with teens??
Because the catchy-ness and sometimes hypnotizing production.
They really be talking about something from ECCO2k battling racism and identity issues, to Bladee talking about past relationships and bettering himself. It’s not just some dumb internet s*** it’s real music with meaning and passion (like most adult contemporary music)
it's really not that deep bro lmao
bladee carried by production and 80% of the time he's just saying random s***

Pay closer attention my brethren
Ecco cool, keep the rest.
I think the actual lyrical content of music is only one component of what connects with listeners, especially when the music isn't lyrically intensive. The sound and the culture around the music is what appeals to their audience, and it helps that the music spreads through mediums where the demographics skew young.
Come from an ex shield gang stan, a lot of the music comes off as very childish. There are other artists making more experimental and vulnerable music from a more mature standpoint. There’s nothing wrong with liking them, the sound is cool, but a lot of people act as if they’re these messiahs when they’re really not. With that being said, if the words resonate with you then who am I to tell you you’re wrong
They don’t make adult music, If it was an adult perspective they won’t be pushing d*** use on their s***, And also that type of stuff ain’t what an adult would hear, Isn’t op like 17 and talking about adult contemporary music?
teens connect to it for a different reason than the older fanbase tbh
same way I f***ed with Cudi when I was 14 for different reasons than me at 25
i dont think its a sound that most adults (unless they are adults that grew up listening to them) would like since its kinda jarring for most at first
people gonna talk s*** but you right op
it’s because younger listeners tend to have a more open mind
but yea, like on bladee’s newest projects you can tell he was tripping when he made it cus a lot of the lyrics were centered around the topic of ego
