PlatinumThere isn't particular topics I want him to talk about, as it could literally be about anything in life that resonates with him OR it could just be music that emits different types of emotions in the listener. I dont feel Drakes music genereally does that anymore apart from provide us with songs to party to, which is cool, but again gets boring when the content is superficial.
Also I think Drakes technical skills as a rapper have improved immensely and these past few years are the best he has ever been, however the content (what he is talking about) and the consistency of good content is as low as its been for him.
Ill give an example of Drakes first verse on the album - and this is consistent throughout the majority of the album. The verse below is completely superficial and surface level, however because his technical skill as a rapper is so good it sounds good.

Firstly have some respect and don't assume I have no sense. Secondly if you read my comments you will see its a general comment about all of Drakes recent music.
And yes Drake is perfectly capable of having better content on an album with 21 Savage, why on earth you think he isnt capable of that I have no idea.

Some of you are so fake and dumb with your terrible takes.
Rappers are allowed to be ignorant in songs. It doesn't mean they have no depth to them. When Drake wants to talk about real s***, he does but he's still a rapper whose job is to primarily entertain people. You had no issues with that 10 years ago so why do you have an issue with it now?
If he's not giving you the content you want, go listen to who is.
The problem with many of you is that it's never enough to accept a song/album for what it is intended to do. It always has to be what YOU want and if it isn't that, then it's bad or inferior.

You do realise this is a forum to discuss music, it is OK to critique his music. Also please be aware that Ive said when it comes to his technical skills this era is as good as Drakes ever been

linnabaryReally sucks that drake had to put that one dumb bar about Megan because now all I see about the album on Twitter is people hating on him and calling him misogynistic. If he didn't include it I'm sure the reception would be much better, especially since people love 21.

A lotta these songs coulda been on Scorpion, Dark Lane Demo Tapes, or Certified Lover Boy and they wouldn’t have been out of place at all

Sonically, and flow wise this sounds nothing like anything he’s released before. Every track is unique. Every sample is flipped in a unique way. Every flow is original. Even the volume of confrontational and controversial content on this project is completely unique to his discography. His level of comfort saying whatever tf he wants regardless of who it offends. No Drake project prior to this is anywhere near like this.
People these days always so hung up on looking for some type of big obvious and drastic stylistic shift that they miss the details

And I'm saying your critique is dumb. This is an album with 21 Savage. People expected a kind of Drake and he delivered on that. So did 21 Savage. That's why it works. No one wanted woke or grown man bars on here and that's why almost all the songs are ignorant.
WATTBA worked for the same reason.
Choosing to ignore that and to criticize Drake because he didn't give you the version of him you wanted on this PARTICULAR album, is what is dumb imo.
Same people screaming they want '''grown man music'' from Drake will be the same ones who won't play that music for more than a week after it drops because they'll find it boring. He's just 36. I would say the energy is definitely different from any project he’s dropped.
But sonically, it’s really not too far off from the rap music he’s been making for the last three or so years.
I’m not saying it’s bad either, I think it’s probably the best rap project he’s released since IYRT, I’m just saying it’s not as unique as some people are making it out to be.
But you’re not totally off either, there are a few songs on here that are unique for him, I’m talking about the project as a whole though
