But it is true that drake’s music is less mature than it was 10 years ago. But I chalk that up to it being cooler back then to be thoughtful or deep in raps. Drake has evolved with the times and mostly leaves that alone because he doesn’t wanna lose the “turn up” crowd that would call Too Much boring and preachy if it dropped today

I feel that
not sure how much of it is truly Drake adapting to the times, or him just being honest about the life he lives though, he probably spent years censoring himself because he didn't wanna lose his nice guy image and f*** his brand up. especially in the time before he was the top dog in rap, he had a lot of weight on his shoulders carrying the YM name especially when Wayne got locked up.

hard af but right after he follows it with "niggas dumb as f***, imagine if I did that stupid s*** when I was comin up" so it reads to me more like sound advice from someone who's done it differently in the past while also being a flex? idk
I thought of it more as a comment on the dumb s*** new rappers are doing while getting hot (drilling, etc) but yeah logically it would seem that way

I just think it was Lil Baby on autopilot
it's still a 'cool' album to me, but even at the time it dropped I felt like he didn't really have much to say. It's a Lil Baby album and thats all that we got. he sold a lot though, so I'm sure his ride or die fans are still gonna bump it
