BlenderBluidKinda surprised this ain’t closer to CLB numbers considering it’s a really good rap album.
I don’t necessarily buy that it being a collab album makes this less comparable since both are top names. Since Drake has a huge black women fan base, y’all think the Meg controversy made this take a hit? Or is it just the lack of poppier music?
I don't think anybody who's clued up about numbers and the context of this album (collab) dropping (3rd release in 14 months) was expecting anything much higher than this.

Me neither. I get it if the artists make a new group name like Silk Sonic took a bit of time to catch on, but if it’s just their regular names I’d assume it wouldn’t matter

The controversy damn sure did not hurt anything . The numbers actually show that collab albums traditionally do worse . All fans of one artist will not be fully interested in listening to a shared album with someone they may not care for.
