Drake rarely drops music like that in recent years though. Her Loss/CLB/HNVM is almost alll soulless music that don't depend on s*** for life experiences

same with 99% of top artists, there's exceptions with less popular artists tho for sure

If I wanna wear relatable s*** there's a way higher chance I'd like music written by a non billionaire lol. Nowadays i'm a stan of Drake for his ability to make catchy music and his consistency, I don't relate to his music

His career isn't being threatened in any way. The AI song that got uploaded on DSPs was taken down. You're stupid if you think the 3 biggest labels in the world worth billions of dollars won't use every connection they have to frustrate the efforts of everyone trying to profit off this s***

These aren't random leaks. No one tries to profit off that so labels could give a f*** about doing the most to have them taken down. This s*** became a different ballgame when that Ghostwriter weirdo tried to profit off the likeness of artists without their permission and I'm guessing that's the angle that'll be used to make laws that protect against s*** like that happening in the future.

DSPs aren't the issue though, leaks have been damaging artists career and f***ing up whole rollouts costing artists/labels millions for years without DSPs. They've never been able to do anything about it because it's impossible due to the way the internet works. It doesn't matter if it's not uploaded to Spotify/AM "officially", people will download the songs locally and put them on those apps themselves just like millions do with leaks already.

this will be that on steroids. It's literally the same as movie/tv piracy which is an even bigger market which again they've never been able to fix, their solution is to just take down sites which is a neverending game of whackamole.

it'll be exactly like music was 20 years ago, people will just share these tracks over Whatsapp, iMessage, torrent sites, discord etc and they'll spread like wildfire and people will listen to them instead of real music. There is nothing they can do

I don't agree. This isn't the early 2000s or the early 2010s. Most people these days consume their music via DSPs because of the ease of access. There won't be nearly as many people downloading dozens of AI songs to listen to unofficially outside of stans. The casual listener won't listen if it isn't on the radio or on DSPs and that's one way labels can tackle it.

Add that to artists coming out to condemn the act and emphasizing how it's basically identify theft and people will just stick to the legal, actual music they get from their faves like they always have.

Using TV/Film piracy to draw an equivalence doesn't work. Imagine people using deepfakes to make entire movies/TV shows and getting that done with the likeness of the most famous actors. That's basically what this is. No industry will be met with a threat like that and not fight like hell until bills are put in place that severely punishes anyone who chooses to engage in that behavior and no real fan would stand for that because regardless of how convincing the performance is, they'd know it wasn't the actual actor putting it on and that's the very thing that makes art different.

All this s*** is exciting right now because it's new and intriguing but the general population will eventually move on from it and then it'll lose its lustre.

It's stupid to me because the people making these songs see themselves as geniuses but there's nothing genius about it. Like I said in some other thread, I don't think labels would have an issue with anyone who decided to create an AI character using their own voice/a voice that wasn't one that belonged to an artist already and wrote, produced and made their own songs which they in turn marketed as being AI made. The problem is the theft of likeness/trying to profit off that. On every ground, that's illegal. I don't know why anyone would be okay with that.

How doesn't it work? 100s of millions of people pirate movies/tv shows all the time which takes $ out of the pockets of the movie actors/creators etc. I really don't think people have as strong morals as you think, a huge % of people just want entertainment. I'm betting it'll be the same here, they just want music, they will not care that it's "stolen". Music already works this way, look at the reaction to Ariana Grande complaining this week about her music being leaked, I saw so many fans of hers laughing at her and bragging about how they're listening to it. Most Juice Wrld/Lil Uzi fans etc have always done the exact same thing. I don't think you'll find many people sympathising with millionaires

Ease of access is true but it'll go out the window as soon as there's Kendrick & J Cole collab albums surfacing, or an OVOXO album which people are raving about... temptation will literally be too strong for the majority of people

No, it won't. He'll just hold off from dropping anything till UMG gets a handle on this s***. The people making these AI tracks can easily make their own versions of any song an artist drops and have weirdos online talking about how it's better than the real thing.
