They don't get paid and even if you're a legacy is the Superbowl the best platform to celebrate your career

It's true but who really cares atp

Idk but he could be standing in solidarity of Kaepernick and not want to sell out like certain fake niggas cough Hov cough

Or because they exploit artists. There is not payment for the performance and you actually have to foot the bill out of pocket. Drake hasn't needed a superbowl and probably never will

Who has ever needed the Super Bowl though? Most acts are either legacy acts that have been established, or artists coming off their biggest year to date

    makes sense bc he's canadian

But I don’t understand why he would decline unless he felt like he was above it.

Why wouldn’t Drake want to be the first rapper to solo headline a halftime show? That’s an insane thing to go on your resume.

He's not at that Usher or Justin Timberlake point in his career yet. He's way too popular for a superbowl rn. When the run is over talks could get serious

  • Sep 10, 2024

He would've made a joke out of himself if he did it, super bowl isn't full of his dumb fans who pay 500$ to see him jump around like a re᠌t᠌ar᠌d and do karaoke

Well as we saw in the past few months, foresight isn't a strong skill of his lmao

Tbh I believe it. Probably around 2016-2020

weeknd made super bowl halftime cool again...

  • Sep 10, 2024

I definitely believe it but why they bringing that s*** up??

This s*** is LAME AF. All this drama over a f***ing Super Bowl performance. Them niggas mad because it’s Kendrick who just beat Drake in a battle..
They wouldn’t be causing this much drama if it was someone else. Period

  • Sep 10, 2024

I’d believe this if Mal of all people wasn’t saying it

  • Sep 10, 2024

its crazy how Mal went from Jay Z's weed carriers little brother to Budden's weed carrier to diet AK.

high selling, high paid acts turn down the superbowl all the time
jay-z himself made a big deal of turning it down and his entire brand is bragging
outkast was supposed to do the 2004 super bowl but didn't want to for artistic reasons

  • Unforgivable

Seems like you don't have a concrete answer as to why he "allegedly" declined it, it's alright Zach

There are some things that you should know if you are this big hip-hop fan that you claim to be. Guess not..

Didn’t performing at the Super Bowl have a negative stigma to it last decade?

  • Sep 10, 2024

There's no way he hasn't been on the short list multiple times over the last few years. I think Mal is framing this as if Drake has been choice number 1 many times and Drake always turns it down. We will never know the actual truth because the NFL is pretty secretive about the actual process,

somebody like Mal who is only famous because of the people he has surrounded himself with is not a reliable enough source

I guarantee they were not looking at rappers to headline the halftime before roc nation came in the picture

I don't doubt it but the fact Mal's only saying it now because Kendrick is performing next year is pathetic

If Taylor Swift has been on the list Drake definitely has

It would definitely have been after Views though so 2017 onward

And tbh they didn't even have a single rap artist that entire decade lol
