then Im even more confused how this somehow benefits kick

i doubt kick is going to see a boost in user sign ups if drake is dissing it

we in a 2 page thread based on kick. that's how.

im not a moral policing guy at all, i actually really dont give a f*** about that stuff ever because of what you said. and because its a safe assumption to live by that all these rich famous artists could be horrible people, i dont know. Plus, we operate under the assumption most of our fav artists are literal murderers, d*** dealers, cheaters, and manipulators.

However, using your platform in such an obvious way to explicitly work as hard as you can to spread a societal bad esp for a check when your already incredibly rich is different, same reason I felt different about kanye too. I dont care if an artist is a bad person, but if your using your platform to be so shamelessly horrible thats a dif story for what ill talk about yk

you know these niggas work in excess (it's never enough)

also nazism and gambling are 2 very different things. One of these things hurts others and another only hurts yourself.

    i feel you

but normally in bad publicity, there is a dissenting reaction that takes the other side just becase, e.g: the sydney sweeney jeans debacle

i just dont see how bad publicity here creates an insurgence of people suddenly using stake because drake doesn't like it lol

this is the same company that pays people to put a stake logo on anything you can think of and repost it

One is worse, but what they share in common to me is your clearly using your platform and influence to make the world worse explicitly and thats my issue.

Many people look up to drake, he has many young fans, he sells his lifestyle and his persona hinges on his wealth and people thinking hes cool. hes def been the biggest money earner and advertiser for stake & kick, and he actively works to not only advertise it but make it look genuinely fun and cool. Youth gambling and Rising right wing sentiment are some of the fastest rising bad hidden evils recently. He clearly sees his collabs and promo as favors people shpould be thankful for and is public about how he likes his level of power.

Imagine if crack was a bit socially acceptable but micheal jackson spent every appearance outside of music nonstop trying to get everyone to smoke crack lol. Keep in mind, drake has a golden toilet tha tmakes sound effects every time you sit in it and one of the biggest homes of any musician to ever exist.

it just is what it is im not mad for it but its pertty spineless yknow

but we're also having a meta conversation about how this situation somehow would garner attention and relevance for kick and less about how drake falling out with kick means anything to really anybody besides like...i dont know less than 1% of drake's fanbase that probably listens to him and watches kick (and uses stake)?

conversation is one thing but that dies out. what im talking about is: how does negative publicity like this equal something fiscally meaningful to kick--not just ghosts talking on the internet for a day or two about it

stake owns kick, kick is just used to further promote gambling lol

it's not like kick is making them any money, they don't have ads, it's all to increase odds of people using stake

W if true but using this opportunity just to say dawg its the most morally bankrupt insane thing he ever did to use his platform as the biggest artist on earth for a few dollars to WORK to get over thousands of people in his fanbase to get into gambling (including what he knows is millions of young people in his audience) and shill an incredibly right wing harmful streaming site dunno why mans dont ever call THAT out its so f***ed up lol like 0 backbone like this is one of the biggest ways you could actively contribute to being the opposite of a societal good, alongside making a point to only collab with kinda racist weirdo white streamers specifically that have ppl like NICK FUENTES in their streams

like imagine if micheal jackson spent literally all his time and public appearances genuinely trying to convince everyone to smoke crack and it was kinda socially acceptable

Drake's part of a genre that glorifies Murderers, gang members and sometimes even rapists. No one gives af about gambling

so you're saying this is a stunt to just get more eyes on kick in general, regardless of what's happening, gotcha

i dont think it will help much--drake crashes out like once very few months it feels like so this feels very unimportant and i imagine the more they press it the faker it'll look because who honestly cares about this s***

The Pop Out had rapists, pedophiles, and gang members on stage and no one gave gave af. Suddenly, the moral police really cares about gambling. Sure

I'd like this specific era to be over. I'm not adverse to the polarizing but other lining his own pockets I'm not seeing the entertainment in this

Albeit the Iceman streams have been cool though

its people documenting their experience and realities through art. Art portraying gambling that could be seen as "glorifying it" especially if you actually are just putting your past with gambling into the art, is different from actively advertising gambling anda more convenient way to do it and weaponizing your influence to a specific place people can do it for money.

You're not serious. What does them documenting their harmful impact on the world have to do with them still partaking in those actions? Calling out Drake for promoting gambling when keeping quiet on worse actors is just massive hypocricy

Uh no it’s not. That’s their life. In art you can talk about your life. It’s art. portrayals of violence in art is nothing new and Fox News arguments that it’s causing violence are always trash either way. It’s a much more debated grey area. Whether they still do the thing is irrelevant obviously that’s wrong. & Obviously anyone glorifying rape would get much more scrutiny from me than Drake.

However, single handedly using your influence to what we know verifiably to have worked in bringing hundreds of thousands of young people to a more convenient easy form of gambling for money when you do not need said money is a concrete objective impact that isn’t art.

Well good luck with your anti-drake advocacy. I'm sure hip hop fans will find gambling as the one sin to be angry about
