Yeah
Same thing with Kendrick and a lot is speculation back when The Game was poppin
Its entertainment in the end, dorks don’t wanna accept they favorite artist chasing money
When did Kendrick stop being your GOAT?
Drake and Bella Hadid cut from the same cloth
shout to young palestine she with the gang
If not for fd signifier dusty ass bringing it up nobody would ever think of comparing Dre to Drake in that context wait til you find out how Pac started out btw
Or biggie claiming he was broke as a kid and weren’t getting fed
That’s not what he was getting at in that post tho.. no one ITT associated blackness with street s*** from what I’ve seen
That’s basically what y’all are arguing about here
Even though Drake code switches a lot, he’s still black at the end of day just like Latto
Y’all are implying he’s putting on his “blackness” when talks tough but nothing outside of that

didn’t even bother replying to that goofy s*** because they’re just trying to derail the topic
How is what I said pearl clutching?
1) I was responding to the video where Drake was mocking the accent, he was a kid, mad ignorant but I guarantee everyone here including I said s*** we didn’t mean as a kid for approval of those around us.
2) you can change as a grown up and become multifaceted in how to present yourself. growing up means you can do/say what you want without giving a f*** what others say, they clowned him for being soft now y’all saying he being fake tough. who gives af about y’all’s opinion on what he wants to represent. A rapper of all people too
3) ya just sound like yall taking this quite personally, so it sounds like ya clutching pearls over this and my comment
no difference between Latto and woah vicky
damn

“ I said s*** we didn’t mean as a kid for approval of those around us.”
lol bro did you even watch the video? He wasn’t saying s*** for approval, he was speaking on how he actually felt. The other whites at the table said it was interesting. Why would he go against them if he’s seeking approval lol?
“You can change as you grown up”
Sure I guess lol but niggas that start repping gangs and s*** like that after they’re already grown have always been clowned for that. Idk why this would be any different lol
And to add on to this, we all said dumb s*** at 17 but I would never s*** on my community. If you were that type of kid, more power to you, I hope you healed
This nigga Drake went years without getting a lining and taper
that white boy voice is real voice for sure

I can say I was mad homophobic as a teenager, and said stupid s*** and ideas all around about my culture growing up cuz I thought I knew s***
Only to be humbled by this as I was growing up, and embracing it all as I’ve grown up
The moral policing is what I find strange, especially when we talking about a grown person now who probably thinks way different than what they said as a teenager
Dot unified these gangs on stage but that was cool ..
That latto vid is cursed asl wtf i feel itchy
On a ratio of Success to Respect
Drake has to be the most successful least respected Artist of all time.
Because white America dont care about none of that + the white side is why they love him so much

No one is arguing the validity of Drake being black.. atleast im not..the critique is him deliberately playing into a character or characters to resonate more with different black audiences. You can argue that comes with the territory of being a rapper and you are right to an extent but there is a reason he and others get put under fire for it.
He decided to play into this tough guy image you can’t be mad at people pulling up receipts..
I’m not on the stance that many on platforms like twitter that Biracial people have to prove their blackness but people are going to look at you funny when you have a new voice, attitude, personality depending on what room you walk into or who you are around or what song you are on. Especially when it comes to an artist like Drake where one of his “attributes” was how “real” and “personal” his music is or was
Code switching implies that you switch not just from different voices but also different personalities that are still you.. just depending on your environment. The critique is not that he’s code switching from “suburban” to hood. It’s that he’s putting on a whole entire “code” that’s not him as a front.

It’s not really moral policing. Nobody is saying he’s a bad person for this or anything. Just that he’s fake.
When people bring up Kankan or Summrs being fake we all laugh but for Drake yall niggas make up these sob stories
