First listen I would’ve told you this was my least favorite Drake album, but now this s*** up there. It grew on me so quick
Oh babbbbbbby
(Know i need u know i need u)
my friend brought something up earlier that hit
it was so smart of him to drop his most polarizing album after CLB, CLB was kind of like a nail in the coffin for some long time listeners that needed something different and this album brought them back around
think about this tho, cause this going to blow your nuts off
after the critism drake got for CLB being the same s*** diff year the huge expectation was he was going to drop his NWTS 2.0 but he didn't
now even more people are going to check out his next release because he now has solidified to his dipshit fanbase that he must drop a NWTS 2.0 for his next, and trust me he will to keep his legend status
so everything snowballed, there could not have been a better time time to drop his passion project
and if you think CLB broke streaming records wait till the next one, cause now the people who hated CLB plus H,N are gonna be on it, people who hated N,H gonna be on it and people like me who loved both with def be on it
either the smartest dude marketing wise, or chaotic synchronization
Yeah I was and still am in the camp of CLB doing nothing for me so this album was a great surprise to me.
is this assement wrong though? lol
There was literally an entire "OVO Sweatshop" meme because this was a pretty popular opinion. This is all backed by the fact that borderline nobody on OVO has dropped any notable or well known projects. PND is the only remotely known signee
Besides NAV, nobody on XO is really popping off either. But the same narrative isn’t really being made for them.
While it’s a popular meme, it’s pretty clear from all the OVO artists that there is complete creative freedom when it comes to what music they want to put out and how they do it.

If you follow any ovo artist u know this. Majid Jordan always touring or making some new music somewhere in the world, party retired at home, dvsn cooking an album every year and now one with jermaine dupri etc

I hate this OVO sweatshop posts.
Like you say, the OVO artists have complete creative freedom and probably get reasonabble budgets for their albums.
Also Drake gives songs to them often times (My Love, Stars Align, probably Friends from Dvsn and more we do not know about).

Dont Run a Drake record to or at least writing from him

Probably a lot of songs where 40 was involved a lot in the production started out as Drake songs
I get why everyone’s so taken by Jimmy Cooks as the last song.. but I’m not sure how anyone thinks Drake feels he needs to do anything.. the choice is intentional.. how is it fundamentally any different then ending Yeezus with Bound 2
All these feelings intertwined, ohh
Fighting the urge to reach out
And my stance remains unchanged, baby
I can’t help it I’m so into youu
Played the album on my way home tonight. This album is a grower without a doubt.😭

Me too fam, it’s literally the same thing over and over again
, you’d think people would just let it breathe for a min.
This album may be ‘dance’ or ‘house’ but from Drake’s singing, lyrics, content, delivery, it’s all very much R&B Drake.
Texts go Green is an R&B record just sped up a bit to me and that’s the case with quite a few of these jams.
Personally this album from the first listen was really good and if you enjoy singing Drake then I think there’s stuff on here that you’ll enjoy. The content is very much akin to Certified lover boy.
currents overhated. the bed squeak wasn't the best choice sonically but it by no means ruins the track

You either love the bed squeak or hate it
There is no in between
