Would y'all be down for more albums like this from Drake that are non-rap and explore a genre/style of music he hasn't necessarily explored before?
as a fan of rap i like it when drake raps so no not really
can only wait and see, lot of speculation in what you’re saying. i don’t buy that they didn’t expect this to do big numbers though. they had no reason to expect any different from his past releases. the “house” album excuses are weak imo. what did DLDT do though? in terms of marketing it’s probably most similar to that project. and it didn’t do too well. so maybe they did know
It’s not really an excuse tho. It’s literally a whole different genre for him and his fan base. Of course they had to know it’d throw ppl off. ESPECIALLY as a surprise release
black coffee is def talented lol
I don't think you understand what I meant lol. Electronic producers rework each other's stuff all the time. Edit culture. Flip culture. This album is good as is, I'd just also like to hear other interpretations which is normal for the genre.

oh you just wanted remixes i thought you were implying the production was bad

As a fan of rap, I'd prefer Drake make music he cares about. Rap hasn't been that in a long, long time.
0-1 likes 🤣
The numbers keep tanking but they'll find a tweet with five likes and tell you the whole world is flipping on this one.

sorry added some more thoughts. i still don’t like the house album excuse though lol, esp when they see it as his “fans” LOVED the dance music he’s made in the past lol

I want rap projects but more similar to NWTS and IYRTITL, if I had to choose between the next project being HNVM 2 or CLB 2 I'd pick HNVM 2

Not this style ( chorus too repetitive) but fun music like this. Don't want him to go back to his gangster cosplay
And for niggas saying drake finished, who finna take the throne? Please tell me. NOW is their chance to strike. Watch nothing happen tho these niggas don’t want it
Something happened to Drake to make him switch like this….
What you think happened?

The narrative online is that he’s falling off and that sales signify that

virgil passing ig :(
What you think happened?
No clue but I think he might’ve had a mid-life realization that he already accomplished EVERYTHING and now he can do whatever he wants….
it would be cool for sure, but personally idk. would it affect me all that much? i don’t think so. i truly can’t say i know what i want drake to make. i liked clb a lot when most people seemingly didn’t. that album had a variety of sounds, but was rather cohesive outside of Tems and Yebbas song. so idk, it’s hard for me to try and describe what i would want him to make
I’m interested in seeing what he does this decade. He’s already accomplished so much, he knows he’s top dog in rap, commercially he’s got it and everything else. I’m ready to see how he moves from this point on as his generation takes the backseat a bit from being the hot trending topics.
Gonna be exciting to see for the big 3 in general but def Kenny and drake for me. Maybe in drake more just because he’s in such a unique position rn he really has the potentiometer move the sound/culture forward in a fresh direction.

Yes. Or at least rap over other genres’ production styles (like Sticky)
As far as rap music goes, he’s already proven he can do it over pretty much any style of hip hop production that there is
