And what instruments are "better"
For example, Calling My Name could have benefited from having a better beat switch and payoff instead of aubruptly ending. The calling my name sample part could have been used so much better with Drake rapping more or something.
Texts Go Green aka my favorite song could have had a better groove to the instrumental and Drake could have sounded more lively on it imo.
Down Hill is just mad lazy with the cheap donkey kong country instrumental and the boring try try try hook.
Falling Back could have ended way earlier than it did. I don’t mind Drake vocally on it because I loved the falsetto.
Currents is fire but the Jersey Club s*** could have been mixed a little better.
There’s more but my main issue is how much life it lacks compared to typical house but that’s just my thoughts

No monotone vocals - Drake is a rapper first man. His voice is his voice. We should all be used to it by now. What he’s doing here is super chill but that’s the beauty of it

TIIMMY BURNERI think there's 2 factors at play here. 1. It's not a genre for everybody, but because Drake made it it seems like it should be for everybody.
2. Some of these dance kids be pretentious in the comments talking about "Why does this feel sooo ... CHEAP" but if they favorite no name DJ dropped these s***s they be sweating. That's part of what makes it hard to call this project just straight BAD because Drake or no Drake the f***ing Squeeky bed on Currents would have me vibing and moving, and that stands for a lot of these tracks.
yeah the album is exec produced by black coffee i love his s*** id have enjoyed this drake or no drake (but drake being there def makes it better imo)

He made what he thought was good and I think the moodiness he brought is the reason we like Drake

In a sense I am him
I am a creative and I know how much hard work it takes to make something half this good
I’ve ran recording sessions at some of the biggest studios in Atlanta with notable artist writers producers and excecutives present. It’s an EXTREMELY high pressure environment and Ive witness artist struggle to create
If we left the session for the night with just one of these records we would be to the moon
My perspective is different
I personally feel as tho I share a common bond with all artist no matter how “big” they are

I like ties that bind and every element around it but yeah that guitar is unforgivable. S*** is playing so many wrong notes
sounds like someone trying to figure out the scale and then they ended recording that and called it a day
