Jun 21, 2022It’s actually pretty impressive that Drake thought to make a fun album for the summer and ended up creating one of the most boring dance albums of all time. His music has lacked charisma for a while now and hopefully the reception to CLB and this album light a fire in him again.

The idea of Drake making an entire dance album just before the summer officially starts is genius. But just like everything Drake has done for the last couple albums the music lacks effort, creativity, energy, enthusiasm, and all of the above.
Drake is basically suffering from the antithesis of the criticism Kanye gets about being too far out there in certain albums like Yeezus, Donda, or even Jesus is King. Drake has gotten far too comfortable just making this cookie cutter, radio filler music. At least in the past Drake would take from the music of other cultures in Toronto primarily and put a spin of it, but he does not even do that anymore.
