Yall been downplaying it the last cpl drake albums because it was getting panned but now that this one is getting favorable reviews it's important again lol
That yall is general
If the review is an honest reflection of the music then why does it matter
Also his last albums don’t have the same vision as his first few like he was running out of creative steam. This new album is an incredible breath of fresh air and people downplaying this album look like the real sheep, it really feels like y’all listen to one genre
Flights booked and Overdrive and Calling my names aren’t even bad. Just growing on me the more I listen.
Tie that binds is probably the most interesting song on here, hasn’t clicked with me yet but something about it. Those strings….
Cover is ass at first but it fits perfectly with the vibe of the album imo.
Glad jimmy cooks is last. You can basically ignore it and liability is a great outro.
I’m confused by how many people say the writing is weak?? Like I really enjoy the writing on a lot of these tracks
That guitar on Tie That Binds really can't click for me lol
Maybe that it’s for me too

The Tie my binds guitar is like the blue/black or white/gold dress
How are people not liking it? 😂

So either their opinions were always an honest review or it wasn't. Now that something you guys enjoy too is getting positive reviews it doesn't mean the other reviews were not honest.
Also the more I listen the more I confirm for myself that Massive is 100% the best track on the album
still bad man need the scary hours 3 redemption rap pack

No idea it just doesn't work for me, I really wish it wasn't there because the track is good otherwise

There’s no logic in saying a publication is either always honest or always wrong
The world is not black and white
Yeah man idk I heard that certain pubs weigh more than others so I would assume a glowing review from pitchfork would give it a bump
Not like that’ll ever happen tho
I tried looking at it once cuz I realized the numbers weren’t adding up. I had thought that maybe they took out the top and bottom reviews to remove outliers or something. But the weighted thing makes sense too

Does anyone in here really care about reviews? S*** is rated a C or sumn, not crazy.

Idk, on songs like Falling Back the authenticity is there, just the structure of the song verses sound halfway freestyled and borderline singy/rambling at some points.
I know that last part is kind of hard to explain, but if you’ve listen to Swaecation I feel like him and Drake’s pen starts to show its flaws in how they pen out verses

I honestly don't care about reviews and didn't even know any of the scores of Drake's other albums. I'm not bothered if it gets a 0 or a 100, the thing that was weird to me is how this already has the same score as NWTS lol

I enjoy reading reviews tbh
I just don’t like the over the top metaphors and allot of the time, views conflict like if the reviewer doesn’t understand the music.
There will always be someone out there who can appreciate and see what makes any song good

Like this sounds good, but halfway thru feels like Swae just start rambling/singing in his verses. Not rambling in being coherent just more subject matter and feels like he just sings in circles.

Fantano said it was from Fiverr lmao

They were honest in their reviews of both clb and this. We have no reason to believe differently.
And i like this album, have no issue with the scoring i am just saying its funny seeing the same people s*** on these people a month ago now posting their reviews lol

The “I don’t want to go” in Massive hits like.. a man at the end of his life.. especially life that Drake’s lived, the idea of eventuality having to let go of it. Was wondering if he was putting himself in Virgil’s shoes.. to let go at the peak, in such a tragic way. Anyway, I found the writing interesting.. if anything it’s truer to how Drake came in the game. This is drake, not the mafioso personality he’s concocted the past few years.. and honestly, you can’t blame people for thinking that’s NOT the act since it’s been running from IYRTITL .. almost easy to forget he came in the game on the disadvantaged end of the power dynamic that exists in love.. and I hear that a lot on this album.. and I feel like everyone also needs to realize there’s house music like Moodymann .. it’s not all SHM level sheen that the Weeknd dabbled in.. personally I prefer the dusty drummed version, it feels less perfect.. also feel like that’s part the mixing choices drakes been making.. it feels rougher around the edges.. and there’s something to be said about the restraint of choosing not to make things perfect.. it’s harder to do tbh because it takes that restraint 🤷♂️

Reviews are a part of an albums history and legacy
Something you can always go back to if you want to gauge how well an album was received
I’m admittedly a pretty big music nerd so when I’m going back to check out old music that came out before I was born I often look at the reviews to see gauge how the album was received in it’s time
It’s one of those things where if you don’t care it’s all good but if you do care it’s all good
We all consume and appreciate music and music history differently
