this is gonna sound weird and like a "reach" of a criticism but does anybody feel like the aesthetic and "packaging" of the album would've much better suited an all rap album?

I feel like this album cover and title should have been switched with CLBs

I think that’s part of the reason why the reaction to both projects was so wild

nah i think its better than here for certain discussions if youre on a genre specific forum. like here for the "thread about the album" the sort of "reaction/release thread" and discussion thread are combined into the thread we are in now, plus a bunch of other tiny threads where people felt their one comment needed to be a thread (which in fairness maybe no one responds to discussion in here like that).

On their there's one album release thread, and then periodic threads based on time passed (24 hours, week, etc) and the mods do a halfway sometimes ok job at weeding out the dumb s*** but u really dont see it if you sort by new.

I also thing the tree formatting for comments n replies keeps things a bit more organized were ass this kinda functions like a groupchat with hella people. mad sporadic even tho u can directly reply. Im thinking of hiphopheads mostly, but i dont go on the subs directly about an artist, where as here u kinda have to if u want to talk about the music because theres no general section thread.

edit: i thought u were comparing it to here my b. twitter is its own thing and because u have everyone on their thats not in a curated space to talk about something (a subreddit, a thread) its just kinda random nad people jump in when they want. Like strangers coming into ur backyard cookout and double dutching with the kids. What makes u say that tho?

I think the structure definitely is a benefit I agree with you especially in how chaotic and frankly inconsistent it can be for releases, but since KTT inherently started without a “likes” system, it feels more organic since I’d imagine most users were from the OG site. Yes there are interactions that are based for likes on here but literally Reddit in a nutshell is “make comment for karma = good/true” and it’s honestly the worst echo chamber on the internet, granted everything is decentralized because you have so many specific subreddits. I like the content and I still frequently browse I just wish there was a way to turn comments off lol

Yeah that's what we were saying. That album cover had me thinking some raw ass s*** was coming. By contrast beautiful Thugger girls walked me into what to expect.

I've grown to appreciate the cover on this though. Feels as serious as the music. No Way Too Sexy on this one.

Oh that’s interesting. I definitely use it in the way you mention at times, like to curate info about something I want to read, and sometimes the comments r good too, n sometimes I comment.
I guess I don’t see karma as a bad thing in the same way u mention og ktt, so I guess the equivalent would be like getting quoted or replies? I don’t care how much karma I have because it doesn’t get you anything outside meeting a threshold to comment in certain instances (to dissuade new accounts/bots from flooding s***). Even with awards, before u could trade in gold for access to some external s*** I think but it’s kinda been diluted and even before u could organize by gold (in the same way you could new/oldest,hot,best) and you’d get something someone thought was worth their money (still crazy) to highlight as important. I don’t mean to speak to you as you don’t know this.

I guess I just think that part of the top comments are a function of what gets commented earliest on a post, on top of what people actually agree with or think is funny. But it’s hella people. I don’t think it’s a wrong/right thing all the time but I’m saying that in the context of music discussion. If we had a comparable amount of users it be similar I think because ppl have the same internet habits form elsewhere. Think about how many threads uve been in where the first page has mad comments with hella likes but the opinions are different. That’s kinda the same as Reddit. I think I might catch myself thinking the similarly to u but it’s only in the instance where I think my opinion is not finding a home. For instance I don’t think this album is good and have listed my reasons why a few different times in this thread. But no one really replied and most of the comments around mine are just “vibing/emoticon spam” type stuff. So you kinda have to try your luck because there isn’t really a specific space for either discussion and music listening narration if I were to call it that.

I see your point because that can be the case in some subreddits but I just don’t be on them like that, or it’s just not always relevant to the reason why I clicked. I think user interface dictates a lot. Are u using old.Reddit or just the regular new. I forget how annoying the new version looks sometimes Im until I switch back and feel like I was transported.

So I think I disagree it’s the worst echo chamber just because it’s decentralized as u mentioned and really varies sub to sub. Post to post. Like r/NBA cba or cap smoothing discussion is different than a trade reaction thread or live game thread if u catch me. In the same respect the loose sphere of nicki Minaj stans on Twitter is a different space than … idk people talking about payment timeliness in editorial art/photography. Just skip the comments bro
