Keep in mind I didn’t like CLB much and I thought DLDT was cool but it was pretty boring and made me sleepy. Also wasn’t big on Scorpion even tho I liked some records on there. I can probably count on one hand how many times of played scorpion front to back.
This s*** here tho I been playing non stop since it dropped, like 3-4 plays a day
Probably at 20 plays front to back already which it probably around the amount of total plays I gave CLB or DLDT (not counting different songs I would occasionally bump solo or in a playlist)
The ONLY thing I can kinda see is his limited vocal range but he’s a rapper dawg
Not only that but he’s been using his voice A LOT over the past decade recording/performing etc so ofc his vocal is going to have some grit to it at this stage. I think it really works for this sound, makes it more raw

Yeah I love the album but the only criticisms I can understand are the limited vocal range and the entire project does have an overall mellow/melancholy overcast to it and it’s so cohesive that it can run the risk of sounding too repetitive if you’re listening casually. But there are subtle difference and approaches to each song that make them unique

im happy that this album is connecting for you. it's definitely a project that feels concise and focused. it isn't bloated with tracks or long songs either (53 minutes) I think that might be why a lot of people are enjoying it along with the songs being good lol
