thats a solid top 4. i prolly swap CLB with HN and views with TC, maybe not sure on that second one. both TC and HN are right outside NWTS IYRTITL and CLB, which all three for me are basically even.

When thinking about the reception of this album I am reminded by a quote by writer Kurt Vonnegut:

“As for literary criticism in general: I have long felt that any reviewer who expresses rage and loathing for a novel or a play or a poem is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae or a banana split.”

I might have to agree. My initial excitement about the album has been cooling of. I've started skipping songs especially from the last third of the album. Falling Back was always a skip for me. I think there are like 4 great songs (Texts Go Green, Massive, Down Hill, A Keeper) and a lot of songs that are just 'cool' but overall nothing special.

The Initial outrage/ backlash was very interesting on all sides.

Because Drake has already been giving us these type of songs just in very small doses.

Better that you like 4 than none at all tbh

WHAT WHY

Scorpion for me was an album with a ton of gems, he just neglected to trim the fat. That's the good thing with this one, and maybe will continue in the future. A concise album that's not too bloated will always have more replay value than throwing songs at a board and seeing which ones stick
