HaroldsChickenI think criticism of content or art we like is important. I think criticism of "you like this and you over this age" is goofy. I critique everything I like. Nothing is perfect. I like to understand why others didnt like something. but the issue is the media literacy and bias is so high someone will just say mid , slop , trash rather than articulating anything of value. That or hyperbole of "its the greatest of all time" but then you ask them their favorite part or how it made them feel and they go blank
this is something i've be thinking about as well. that's why forums like these are so important. I think it's important to have these conversations in a public forum because like you said alot of the social media discourse is just "MID, SLOP" etc...
it's almost like we as music lovers have to find a new way to discuss the music. I feel like message boards like these should make a come back

I have never once in my life said "wow you too old to have joys in this world". They have earned the joy.
