what is considered running the decade exactly ?

because kanye had all his albums #1 in 2000-2010 ?

Kanye ran the decade of 2004-2014

You could also say he ran the 00’s as a whole if you include his production, but even as a Ye stan I wouldn’t consider that truly running the decade

Drake run is historic but let’s not rewrite history. His run started at If Uour
    Reading this it’s too late

    Wayne outsold him in 2011
    Eminem outsold him in 2013

  • Feb 10, 2020

It would be dope if he keeps it till 2021 definitively so ppl can really say that he had it from 2011-2021

I feel like he gonna drop this year and take for granted that it’s still his game and not drop again til 2022-23 when things are totally different a la everything that was happening in 2012-2013 compared to the Cat Daddy and Roscoe Dash, where Kendrick, Future and Cole were in 2010 vs. 2012-2013

It’s funny how this thread made people realize Drake wasn’t as dominant until IYRTITL

Nah Take Care was a moment. Take Care sat with people and honestly as a Wayne fan who used to check LWHQ everyday, the C4 selling a mil seemed kinda fishy lol. The buzz wasn’t the same.

I was in HS at the time and vividly remember. That was when Drake became “Drake”. + the Chris Brown s***, Common, Pusha, etc. lol and he was eating all that s***. He started to play with the mob boss s*** which revamped his image. He had hard features with Meek Future and Chainz etc.

It wasn’t Wayne’s game anymore and I shouldn’t have to explain why Eminem was less culturally impactful than Drake any year past 2009. Niggas ain’t bumping Em. B****es ain’t bumping Em.

Lil Wayne was bigger then Ye all of these years besides 04/05

  • Feb 10, 2020

Nigga as a HSer Drake was on some LeBron s*** where you couldn’t believe this nigga hasn’t f***ed up yet and is living up to the hype. Every verse was wild and that’s impressive if I been listening to you from middle school till the first half of college.

I kinda wish the Meek s*** didn’t happen so that air was never lost in retrospect if they was just gonna link back up lol. Like how Lil Wayne lost that magic moment from 07-09 because of Rikers. Or arguably Ye because of Kim.

i mean if we talk purely music then drake did, but if we include other factors then i dont think he did run it.. simple as that.

How did Drake run 2010- 2014?

He wasn’t the highest selling he only won one grammy and has no number ones. Not the top tier critically acclaimed. What did he do to be number one?

I’m talking strictly music Dominance in the sense that you could not go outside without hearing his music.

From 2010 - 2014 he released thank me later, take care, and nwts some of his most iconic albums not only for himself, but also the world. You deadass could not go outside and not hear someone bumping these albums.

Take care debuted at #1, thank me later as well, and so did NWTS. Grammys are a joke and aren’t meant to be taken serious, if anything drake is proof that the Grammys shouldn’t be used a measurement for success.
