How many Hov samples as he even used? Only other one at the top of my head I can think of is Ignant S*** and I think him and Wayne did an amazing job on that. Even got a co-sign from Hov himself.

Edit: Wait I just remember Family Feud but again him and Wayne did well on that too. It at least wasn't a disappointment imo and technically that was Wayne doing it not Drake.

Family Feud is another one. I don’t Drake does a bad job or anything but usually on the Hov samples Drake is in his rap bag, he does well on them but also the comparisons come to play. Therefore potentially leading to unrealistic expectations, on Drakes best day he still isn’t half the rapper Jay Z is.

Again you say usually like he has done a lot but all I know is When to Say When. Family Feud and Ignant S***. I don't think that's enough to say that. I only agree with When to Say When. Ignant S*** he did justice and Family Feud he did good too imo, I don't think that was so off from how Hov approached the song at all. Also I think on Drake's best day he seems him as a peer and contender for the his throne tbh. There is a reason he made Watch the Throne with Ye and have thrown shots back and off with him over the years after all.

Fair point with the amount of songs. I’m not saying Drake did terrible, I just think he shouldnt rap over Hov songs. Those same raps would probably hit a lot harder on other tracks. Drake maybe a peer in terms of success and status, but that’s where it stops. Drake had his chance but with Meek and Pusha those are big Ls that can’t be blemished over. Also Drake needs to show more growth as an artist, he doesn’t have the voice Hov does.

Drake didn’t respond after conceding his loss. Hov taking Ls is up for debate because he at least responded afterwards. Has Hov ever been questioned for having a ghost writer? You can attempt to move goal post but those Ls Drake took are way worse that can’t be defended. And he won with Meek in battle lol

You acting like Hov ain't had L's himself. The GOAT himself sees Drake as a rival I don't think he needs anymore validation of his skills than that. Also look how long it took Jay to show more growth. and yeah he doesn't have the voice Hov has. He has the voice Drake has. He carved that himself and he still carving. Hopefully Certified Lover Boy can cement this because I don't blame the skepticism. Drake could definitely use a project that boosts his respect as a lyricist.
