We’re talking about artistic merit. At this point, dude could drop an entire album of poopity scoop and it would still go top of the charts. That’s not nothing to do with wherever people think it’s a good album and that it’s gonna stand the test of time.
I’m talking about an actual break. No albums, no mixtapes, no EP’s, no features, no nothing. Actually leaving and giving people time to miss him and for him to actually want to come back and deliver something special.
But why though
How does him leaving help his artistic merit if he's consistently dropping classics at his current rate? A lot of artists are different and work different. Not everyone is Frank Ocean and if that's not who he us as an artist he shouldn't try to recreate that.
Drake works best when he's focused and in the zone. Once he has that mindset he puts out gold so for him a break would hurt because he has to build back up to that mindset all over again. I'm kind of the same at work and if I took a vacation I wouldn't be as good when I come back because it's hard to readjust.

I love his music but let’s be real, none of his projects for over half a decade come even close to being a classic or having critical acclaim (in b4 what do critics know)
