Basically the eminem fans of today, at least most eminem fans cared about hip hopOk...Drake birthed the bs artist you mentioned, secondly yes Drake is plenty mainstream but also very talented and is rapping better and making better R&B type music than your favorites in both genres. Anybody is a reach sure, but when rappers get closer to reaching pop star status there are a noticeable amount of people in the fan base who don't f*** with hip hop in general, just maybe that rapper or maybe 1-2 more separate ones. This can be said about Kanye as much as Drake, but Drake is just the model example for this as far as a rapper that pretty everyone knows and not some nigga like Tom MacDonald, Dax or Hopsin.
