I think your thinking is flawed because you are putting music on some sort of artistic pedestal and acting as if it isn’t anything other than art

It’s an art AND a product. It’s a hobby. It’s a skill. It’s a talent. Music is many things and the listener is the one who assigns meaning to it on their own terms. Because regardless of what the artist thinks, the one listening has the final say in their own mind.

So yes. Drop every song you ever recorded. I’d rather that that have 90% of the s*** you recorded never see the light of day like Jay elect

I’m not putting it on any artistic pedestal. It’s art, not product. It’s only product because of this bullshit societal system we live under.

Like I said, if you truly believe an artist should release every song they’ve ever recorded, you’ve lost the plot. That’s like telling someone to speak every thought that comes to their mind. It’s a ridiculous concept

I get it. I don’t think ICEMAN will be washed under whatever it is though. No matter how people feel about its rating or quality I think we can mostly agree that it was a successful “return” album for Drake. The other two are probably more for the hardcore fans but personally I’ve enjoyed them all even if it means shuffling through them every so often. If this is one more album then I’ll do the same. At this point Drake is unapologetically going to release music on his own schedule and I think he’s mastered the ability to seep into your library in some capacity no matter how often he’s dropping. We shall see though I’m excited no matter what it is!
