TheFaderThis is exposure, not musical influence. The “Canadian” sound you’re referring to influenced R&B, not rap. There is no “Drake sound” in rap music. All of his biggest rap records are just other regions’ sounds
His RnB influenced rappers to intertwine RnB melodies in the rapping, I'd even say his pre TK loosies sampling Dance and alt records influenced a lot of the art rap wave in the 2010s. Then after Take care, the generation who came up listening to that directly have been influenced by his approach to rap, the beats he and 40 cooked up and on the engineering side, the standard from an entire generation has been a drake preset when it comes to vocals.
