Anybody have the filing? Generally speaking you file in federal because of the charges you wish to allege (causes of action) and the disposition of federal vs state judges in regards to said respective charges you choose to allege in the actual federal filing.. that's generally the reason to file in federal court.. Search "subject matter jurisdiction" for further information. none of this is to be construed as legal advice lol

"Predictably, millions of people who listened to the Recording, or saw the Image and Video, believed the Defamatory Material to be true.

UMG had previously published Lamar’s song “Euphoria,” which was also widely understood to be targeted at Drake, and which stated, “don’t tell no lie about me and I won’t tell truths ‘bout you.”

As voluminous public commentary confirms, the average listener or viewer has understood the Defamatory Material to reflect “the truth,” rather than art or hyperbole.

In the words of one commentator, now “everybody believes” that Drake loves “touching children."

Suing his record label over a diss song is still crazy. Drake is the biggest b**** hip hop has ever seen.

Before I could listen to boy music now I treat his s*** like 6ix9ine music no lie turn that s*** off

If Drake manages to have a compelling case and wins then

    1. NLU possibly gets pulled off streaming, is heavily censored or never gets played in the mainstream outlets ever again

    2. Diss Tracks will die out in HipHop because no label will want to risk pushing one regardless of the majority of the culture feels about legal stuff like this

    3. It opens the door for more censorship in rap in general so that labels will safeguard themselves in the future

So essentially f*** the label and proceed with business as usual in the DIY space which essentially signed artists today have to do anyways? Word

There's no proof that we know of that they pushed ANY of these songs in the beef

    That's the point lol

NLU was a hit record. The label did what they did with any Drake / Kendrick record that takes off.
