After looking into this more, I’m now on the side of the theory that this is mostly a business move and Drake is just doing this to recoup on the potential losses from his negotiation with the label

I'm completely making up numbers, but lets say the initial negotiation before the battle was for $600 million. I believe Drake took a risk by getting involved in the beef. He was likely thinking with his ego, believing he could win the feud and then elevate the negotiation to $1 billion. However, things didn't go as planned, and it backfired. Now, the negotiation might be even lower than the original amount, possibly around $400 million. As a result, not only did Drake lose $200 million, but when factoring in the potential gain from winning the feud, he effectively lost about $600 million which granted, is a lot of money.

While I'm not saying this is entirely unrelated to losing the beef, I believe the main reason he's doing this is for money.
