It's not that deep. Drake never wanted to sue or take this to court. In the lawsuit, it states that he tried multiple times to resolve this issue with UMG behind the scenes and they told him to f*** off every time. They forced his hand. They made this happen because they thought he'd never do this out of fear of being ridiculed by people.

Fair enough. All I'm really saying is that both parties have hired big guns as representation.

People should keep an open mind about this case because there's a very possible world where this gets settled. If it ever gets to a point where both parties don't feel confident in a win, a settlement would be the next best option.

Even with the lawsuit filed, it still isn't exactly clear what Drake would need from UMG to be sufficiently appeased but I can see them offering that to him and him accepting, if they ever get there.
