Ahh the classic no one else did it so it’s not an issue reasoning.. this would set a precedent that artists could/would sue their labels and it would also create an environment that labels would censor anything that could risk damages.
This makes zero sense. You think Drake suing UMG now is what will set the precedent for artists to sue them in the future? There's over a dozen artists currently suing UMG, in case you didn't know. They're ALWAYS getting sued. That's why they have high-profile lawyers on retainer.
Again, as for rap beef, no one mainstream is having any rap beefs to begin with, yet alone having rap beefs where defamatory things are being said that would cause UMG to be sued. That's why I highlighted that all 3 major rap beefs we've had in the last 10 years have all involved Drake.
UMG also won't begin to censor gun talk or murder talk in rap because of this suit. Nothing will change. Y'all are just making s*** up.
