    legally you basically have to

even if a copyright infringement doesnt hurt you in any way or benefit the other person, you're required to enforce it

You don’t have to. There’s thousands of remixed songs on YouTube where rappers are rapping over copyright instrumentals and they don’t get removed

    Why is Jay's name there?

    Because it’s his beat

    Unforgivable

I don't buy it but let's agree to disagree

i actually might be wrong here, i was looking for a source to send and i might have got it mixed up

copyrights you're not really required to enforce unilaterally, however trademarks do have more rules about enforcement which essentially require them to enforce it

So it was taken down for copyright.

“Copyright”. Songs get remixed all the time and they aren’t removed. They are usually just demonetized. Not outright removed.

That’s why people think there was foul play with that song

To be fair, there are differences than some rando with 50 subscribers remixing a song and a well known rapper competing in the largest rap beef using the song

just because a couple small youtubers get away with copyright infringement doesnt make up for the fact that its well known even demonetized videos will get taken down if you have copyrighted content

Yeah that’s cap. Labels don’t have to take down a song that illegally uses licensed work, they just choose when to depending on the circumstances

It’s not just randos though. It’s actual famous rappers that either get sent the original beat or they get a recreated version and rap over it

Most recent example I can think of

So it clearly wasn’t Jay then.

Why would Jay even want that taken down? For what reason?

Jay Z has been some shadow mastermind trying to take down Drake all these years yet he had TSOA removed?

It literally makes no sense, him and Push have never had issues and Pusha literally interpolated him on Daytona

If it was Drake, UMG would have included that in the response to the petition and Pusha would never shut up about it

Story of Adidon getting taken down was 100% Drake’s doing man

It’s either a genuine mistake by UMG or Drake pressured them to remove the song because it already had more views than Duppy in like an hour
