I know the Drake hate is still high but it is so crazy to me how people still think that’s why he’s suing. Drake has been s***ting on his label for years. This was most likely always the outcome to get what he feels he truly deserves. He was suing whether he won or not.

So his master plan was to participate in a rap battle and take turns defaming his opponent and then sue his label for damages no matter what the result was?

If the lawsuit is primarily comprised of the fallout of the battle that he had and he apparently didn’t have the grounds to sue before then (otherwise it would’ve most likely had been done ages ago) then it isn’t a leap of reason to think he did it because he lost at all.

Issues or not, using the defamation angle as a proxy for his overarching issues with the label in general is kind of funny no matter how you turn the cube.

The same way using the label to gain an upper hand fell into Kendrick’s lap, proof of that fell into Drake’s. In the end they’ll both get what they want.
