Sometimes you look in a mirror and see yourself differently from day to day, sometimes you view yourself positively and other days you look at yourself and see someone ugly.

You have to ask yourself, how could you possibly have an accurate knowledge of the person you are when we build our lives on our understanding of ourselves?
if that self perception is based on something that changes every day (our minds & thoughts), then how can we be sure we're even viewing ourselves authentically? or making the right choices? Do you even know yourself? Or are we just making decisions based on who other people and our faulty ideas tell us we are?

Obviously a physical mirror is a real thing that shows the same image every time, but the mind state of the viewer gives a different impression despite the mirror creating a singular image
