8AM is one of his best timestamps tbh

    Plus the video

  • Oct 9, 2023

I think people just want Away From Home, 8AM, and FPS repeated 5 times, 15 succinct hard rapping songs

  • Oct 9, 2023

CLB is genuinely one of his best modern albums. Not saying it's better than Take Care or NWTS or anything but there's so many great songs on there

    Drake created rapping and Canada.

We didn't really get the feel no ways/ karaoke/ hold on we're going home Drake that I love.....we haven't gotten that in a while.

Or the passion fruit/ signs/ blem Drake either.

If OP is right I wish Drake would stick to innovating instead of copying all these new rapper flows on each album.

I didn’t need to hear Drake do his best Yeat impression and put on a Speedy Gonzales accent on that Bad Bunny song.

Bro said Away From Home is bars that s*** falls in the same category as a Can’t Have Everything

8am is the ONLY bar heavy song on a 23 f***ing track album

Dude couldn’t even give us a bar heavy intro and outro

F*** that melodic/trap rap I’m so tired of that s***

I love the timestamp records and his usual bar heavy intro and outros so I’m not trying to disparage them by saying this but at some point we gotta realize that those kind of songs do not serve 80% of his fan base and certainly not the base that buys expensive ass concert tickets or merch.

He’ll always give us a freestyle or time stamp in a 3 pack or something but Drake is a songwriter who likes to craft songs and his success rate doesn’t really show an incentive to give us 10 Diplomatic Immunity’s just so we can have internet conversations and not stream them heavily after a month. I also just don’t think he’d find that as interesting as say, writing a song around a Frank Ocean sample, etc.

I get the sentiment but he made a whole dance album that was left field and did not serve 80% of his fanbase, and Honestly Nevermind was his lowest selling album ever so that doesn’t help with any revenue

I think a huge core of his fanbase actually wants to hear him rap rap. There’s a reason why when 8am dropped everyone went into a frenzy and was saying “if the whole album is like this then we’re in for some s***

I get that it’s nice to have a variety in his music so it might seem refreshing to not have a bar heavy intro or outro but that’s 3 projects now where he doesn’t do it from Honestly Nevermind, Her Loss, and now FATD

So it’s frustrating as a day 1 stan for your favorite rapper to not do more of what you feel he’s at his best at

stop listening to Drake music altogether if its bothering you so much. thats it. it will make your life way better

As someone who has been a stan since Room For Improvement am I not allowed to be frustrated that my favorite artist ever put only 1 song of my favorite style from him on a 23 track album? I think that’s understandable

I’ve had 8am on repeat and a few other songs from the album so yeah I’m not listening to what I don’t like, I don’t know who would do that I’m not gonna stop listening to my favorite rapper

You're allowed to be as frustrated as you want with whatever he puts out. Im just saying if his music has been such a disappointment to you recently, find enjoyment in something else. its only but so many times you can be repeating yourself about how much his albums are garbage to you. But maybe you havent grown tired of doing that. do you. it is what it is.

I think that’s a fair perspective! My assumption with something like HNVM is it’s still “songwriting.” It still plays with hooks and bridges and structure. It was also not expected in any way and kind of a bonus album between CLB and Her Loss. I think Drake finds 8ams and Champagne Poetry’s to be fun things to do a few of, but not an albums worth. In general I’m surprised people like you have stayed on board for this long since I feel like his priorities shifted since Views

Bro what????? This is my favorite artist ever I’ve never once said an album of his was garbage I’ve defended him through everything, even when people were s***ting on Honestly Nevermind and I hated it I was defending the album and him
